The MV Bounteous Sea is a 72 ft ex-fishing vessel which was built Scotland by J.G.Forbes Boatbuilders at Sandhaven near Fraserburgh. She is powered by a 500 HP Cummings Diesel Main Engine and has a Lister and Ford Generator for electrical power.
The Galley
The Galley, which is situated behind the wheelhouse has been specifically designed and built with full dining facilities and ample room and storage space for 12 people to ensure that the food that they are about to eat is piping hot straight from the cooker.
There are full cooking facilities on board and hot and cold fresh water on tap. The galley can either be self catering or we can supply a cooked breakfast that won't leave you hungry for the rest of the day for a very reasonable additional cost.
The Accommodation
The accommodation, which has been specifically designed, has the largest cabins on board any of the local dive boats, comprising of six twin berth cabins ensuring complete privacy each with hot and cold water.
All cabins are centrally heated and each cabin has its own thermostat so each can have their cabin as warm as they desire. Cabins are fully carpeted throughout.
The Living Saloon
The Living Saloon is very spacious and again is centrally heated and carpeted. There is a television and video recorder for your use as well as a stereo system.
There are lots of power points for the recharging of torches, mobile phones etc. Once again the saloon is also furnished to a very high standard with total comfort in mind.
The changing area
The changing area is situated underneath the shelter deck and is very spacious with room for storing kit and hanging up suits. There is a large area between the shelter deck and the Whaleback (on the main deck) which is open air with lots of seating and benches for the beautiful days.
Equipment
The Bounteous Sea carries a 25 CFM compressor for all your free air requirements. We can also supply diving cylinders for your use if you don't want to take your own with you.
We can supply Nitrox on board for the more technical divers at an additional cost. We can also supply lead weights for your use free of charge.
Mervyn — the skipper
The skipper / owner, Mervyn Pirie is a very experienced skipper. He has piloted many other vessels for over 16 years, is fully certified and will tend to all your needs. Mervyn is an expert at locating wrecks and spotting sites for some unbelievable scenic diving.
Safety equipment
The MV Bounteous Sea carries all the modern oxygen therapy equipment and all the other safety equipment that is required under the MSA code of practice, for which she is certified.
The MV Bounteous Sea also carries lifting gear for the ease of loading and unloading your kit as well as lifting on bicycles and Motorcycles should you wish to take them for touring round the isles at your leisure.
